떠나 보내야 혹은 상실해야(loss) 할 것을 그리하지 못하고 붙잡아두는 삶은 우울(melancholia)하다. 그래서인가, 봄로야는 실체 없이 나타났다 사라지는 기억의 잔상들을 색과 형태로 고정시켜 그것에 이름을 붙인다. 이제 더는 사라질 것도 희미한 것도 아닌 “짐”이 되었지만, 바로 그 순간이 기억에 대한 강박적인 불안에서 우리를 잠시 해방시켜준다. – 안소연 (평론가)

<사라의 짐>은 단어 ‘사라짐’을 언어유희로 풀어 낸 주인공 사라가 갖고 있는 짐 같은 ‘기억’을 의미한다. 그림, 글, 노래로 꾸며진 드로잉북 형태의 이번 음반은 사라가 과거의 기억에 동반되는 외로움을 '실재적인 덩어리'로 보게 되며, 이 덩어리들로 짐을 꾸려 여행을 떠난다는 짧은 스토리를 주축으로 8곡의 노래와 50 여 점의 그림, 단상 그리고 실재 타인의 짐 같은 기억을 수집하여 드로잉 한 그림들로 구성되어 있다.

A life that cannot leave something to be lost is a life of melancholia. It can be why Bom Roya fixes afterimages of memories appearing and disappearing and gives them names. As a “burden” that cannot disappear or became faint, the very moment relieves us from compulsive anxiety about the memories. (Soyeon Ahn, an art critic)

'The Burden of Sara' means burdensome ‘memories’ of Sara, the protagonist whose name is made using pun of sara-jim, or ‘disappearing’ in Korean. The album, in a form of a drawing book with drawings, writings, and songs, represents mass of real solitude accompanying Sara’s past memories. Along with a short story that Sara goes out on a trip, carrying the masses, the work is composed of eight songs, 50 pictures, and drawings created out of some thoughts and others’ actual burden.
