<선인장 크래커>는 멕시코의 예술가 프리다 칼로 (Frida Kahlo)의 삶과 작업을 모티프로 주인공의 가족, 연인, 친구와의 문제들을 풀어내는 이야기이다. 프리다 칼로와의 동일시, 그녀의 작품 속 초현실적 이미지들을 통해 바라보기, 그리고 그로부터 벗어나는 과정을 쓰고, 그리고, 노래한다. 눈물, 선인장 등은 고통과 희망을 함께 상징하며 기린, 플라밍고, 코끼리와 같은 동물들은 주인공과 타인의 '이름'과 '존재'를 대변한다.
Pictures come from my first novel, ‘Aguantar’. A girl who admires Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo and portraits my onto Frida conflicts with family members, lovers and friends in my 20’s. I resolve my troubles in dreamy world. From pictures, image of teardrops is duplicates to throne of cactus. It doesn’t mean only a pain but also a hope. Animals such as giraffes, flamingos and elephants are imaginations soothing me and other names of being positive.
