이 책의 영감은 친구에게 부탁한 드로잉 스캔물에서 비롯된다. 친구는 내가 실제 드로잉들 사이에 간지로 껴 놓은 작업 흔적, 낙서가 있는 종이까지 작품인 줄 알고 스캔해서 보내주었고, 굳이 의미를 붙이지 않아도 꽤 그럴듯하게 스캔이 된 이미지들을 보며 이것들을 책 같은 형태로 만들어보면 좋겠다고 생각했다. 책이 될 수도 있지만 포맷은 실제 구매자가 자유롭게 사용할 수 있는 ‘노트’이다. 지난 작업들의 초안 및 메모, 낙서, 작업을 하고 난 뒤의 흔적들이 편하게 다가갈 수는 없을지 질문하고, 누군가 나머지를 채워줄 것을 기대하며 만들었다.

My years of 2013 and 2014, and your years. This is not a book, but a note. Do not tear it off. Do not discard it. Please fill it. And do not give up writing down.

The book was inspired by some drawings scanned by a friend. The friend thought some works’ traces and papers with scribbles inserted between pages as artworks and scanned them. The scanned images looked like real artworks without any need of explanation, and thus, I thought these can be made into a book. It can be a book but its format is a note, which a buyer can use it to any purpose. With the book, I ask if drafts and memos of previous works, scribbles, and traces of works can be easily approached and expect that somebody would fill out the rest of the note.

-Production method: collecting by year, overlapping, filtering, erasing, and rearranging by traces
